| Bio: | Cead Mile Failte! I am Teresa Conner (Treasa Ní Conchobhair), known as Chrissy online to many. My family (O'Connor) came to America from Dublin in the late 1700s. Originally they settled in Virginia but have since scattered south (some in Alabama and Missouri) and even north to Canada. My family's branch was changed to Conner not long after arriving, thus I have the name Teresa Conner. Chrissy comes from my middle name, Christine. I grew up being called Christi because I felt it suited me better. Though as I grow older I am growing more and more fond of Teresa. I am a practicing Celtic Pagan. I left the religion of Wicca almost a year ago to fully devote myself to a truer path (meaning truer for me, not that Wicca isn't good for other people). Though I long to be as true to my ancestors as possible, I see no harm in learning about other spiritualities and even seeing the benefits in them as long as you know and make distinctions (something which was lacking terribly in Wicca, according to most things Wicca they think 90% if not more of the religion is Celtic, which is hardly true). Along with Celtic, I have deep connections to the ways of Tibetan Buddhism, Greek and Roman Reconstruction and Hinduism. And because I have both bits of Creek and Cherokee from my maternal ancestors and because I reside on American soil, I honor the native land spirits and use many Native American practices in my personal spirituality as well. I find it disrespectful to combine religions into one ritual (except in the fact that you honor the land spirits of the place you reside with offerings common to them and in ways common to them) though, so I do not do that. I keep the practices of various paths separate. I am using an online source and an audio course at the moment. ![]() banner by olde-fashioned | |||||
